DORKS AT WORK. ENJOY.

GOOGLE, GET BANH MI PHO ME.

if you've happened across this dumpster fire of a webpage then you're probably interested in ordering food not web development services. fortunately we got that food for ya... but if you want some terrible web design ideas i gotchu.

arlington UPDATE 03/18/2025  WE HAVE A NEW LOCATION!!! GUYS, I GOT A DINING ROOM AGAIN!  I BOUGHT A STORE IN BALLSTON ARLINGTON. THE DC LOCATION IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL I GET ENOUGH STAFF TO ALLOW ME TO RETURN TO DC TO OPEN THAT STORE AGAIN.

georgetown UPDATE: sooooo the georgetown location is temprarely paused. i am now at my Arlington location which has a dining room and parking is better than Geogetown.

Welcome to SIMPLYBANHMI! dc and Arlington's best vietnamese food with admittedly dc's crappiest website. you won't find a fancy souless kiosk here to take your order. there's no modern industrial influence in our decor. our serving-ware isn't handcrafted and eclectic. we're not about design... obvs. i'm just a simple college dropout trying to monetize my mom's talent for cooking by serving my mom's recipes to the masses! my sister originally partnered with me to open our first location.  she got burnt out on it. so it's just me and sometimes mom.  (update, my sister last seen pretending to enjoy her weekends, steady paycheck, paid holidays and health insurance... tragic.) we deal in good eats, not so much in the interwebs, marketing, design or anything else polished. anyhoo, great food. great service. we're working on the rest. hopefully we can make a living at this... looking at you web visitor!

when we first opened we were a tiny hole in the ground basement dive with a "lovable" staff, surprisingly good banh mi, super reasonable pricing, and obsessive attention to service. now we occupy the main floor with room for 22 guests.(update georgetown dining room gone now but arlington has dine in!) our menu has grown to include pho, rice, noodle and salad bowls. the staff are still the same down to earth kids and the food is still top notch. prices remain super reasonable. check the YELPS, playa. just the good ones, though, mmmkay? whoa wait, did we mention we have vegan, gluten free, and halal options? we do. what?! true story.

bread is a limited commodity at simplybanhmi. once it's gone, it's gone for the day. if you are coming in for sandwiches, call ahead. we'll be glad to set aside some baguettes for you!

do us a solid. come in, eat(update eat our food at your pad, your friends pad, ipad, but we don't have a dining area no more in georgetown), relax, enjoy and help me pay the bills so that i may honor my beloved mother... ANNNND her ever "helpful" criticisms of me.

tl;dr brother sister owned shop (it's just the brother now.  sister decided being a slave to the shop wasn't worth it. i'm not as smart.) with the best banhmi, pho, rice, noodle, salad options that are halal, vegan, gluten free. their website sucks.

mama tran is the author of two cookbooks, so we're kinda delicious by proxy. thanks mom!

mom want's you to know that signed copies are available here for 30 bucks. for 40 bucks she won't talk your ear off about it. nah mean?
